Mortal Kombat - Wata 9.4 CIB [Made in Japan, Early Production], SNES Acclaim 1993 USA. [Box: 9.4; Manual: 9.2; Cart: 9.2; Overall: 9.4] There are no CIB copies of Mortal Kombat graded higher out of 12 on Wata's February 2025 population report. This port of the 1992 arcade fighter Mortal Kombat gained notoriety for replacing blood with sweat and toning down its iconic Fatalities to align with Nintendo's family-friendly guidelines. The censorship led to creative workarounds, such as using a Game Genie to restore the original features. The home console versions were promoted through the memorable Mortal Monday advertising campaign, which was revisited for the 2023 release of Mortal Kombat 1.
