The Flame #1 (Fox, 1940) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. Lou Fine draws this magnificent cover of the Flame blasting away at some unseen enemy off the side of the cover, out of view. Note the two goons' and buxom damsel's dastardly expressions. Surely, they are up to no good and it is up to the Flame to stop them. Note Lou Fine's mastery in rendering these characters. In particular, note the fine detail in the girls hair and realistic drawing of the thugs clothing. This premiere issue also features the Flame's origin. It has a dust shadow on the front cover, but features sharp edges and ultra tight staples with deep, rich cover colors.
