Description
Daniel Clowes Lloyd Llewellyn #3 Title Splash Page 1 Original Art (Fantagraphics, 1986). With his clumsy and naive detective character, LLoyd Llewelyn, the iconic author of Eightball and Ghost World delves into film noir atmospheres and the lounge culture of the 1950s, infusing his hero's adventures with humor and a keen sense of the absurd. This stylized title page is from the story "The Crazy Hot-Rod Drop-Outs from Beyond Jupiter". Rare artwork, beautifully rendered in ink and Zipatone on Bristol board with an image area of 11.25" x 14.75". It is affixed to a larger, thick board. Apart from the credit line, all texts are stat paste-ups, with some glue discoloration seeping through the title stat. Slight handling wear, with minor production spot staining in the lower tier.
