Carmine Infantino Blackhawk #1 Unpublished Double Page Splash 2-3 Original Art (DC, 1988). In an evocative depiction of the 1939 Polish invasion that precipitated World War II, portraits of Hitler and Stalin bookend a tumultuous scene of tanks, aircraft, and soldiers embroiled in combat, capturing the initial thrust of global conflict. The striking double splash was drafted for the unpublished story 'Two Blackhawks Down!'. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on DC Bristol board with an image area of 21.25" x 15". Light toning, Zipatone has yellowed, whiteout text correction on Page 2, whiteout art correction on Page 3, slight crease on Page 2, handling wear. In Very Good condition.
