Garfield and Friends "The Pie-Eyed Piper" Garfield as the Pied Piper Production Cel and Animation Layout Drawing Group of 2 (Film Roman, 1993). "They put the Piper to the test. He passed with flying crullers!" Garfield recounts the classic story of the Pied Piper, but his story has a twist. Garfield himself plays the Pied Piper in this story, and he's called the Pied Piper because he tends to get pelted with pies by unhappy listeners while he plays his pipe! This image depicts the Pied Piper in an exceptional full-figure pose as he prepares to snack on a pastry, a moment which can be found at about the 6:18 mark of the episode "The Pie-Eyed Piper" from Garfield and Friends. This original, hand-painted 12 field production cel features an image of the Piper measuring about 7.5" x 6.25". The cel is marked in its lower right corner with G26, and it is set atop a color print background for presentation. Also included with this group is an original animation layout drawing for this scene. This drawing is created with graphite and red pencil on 12 field animation paper, and it was used to determine posing and framing for this scene. The cel is in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear. The drawing is in Good condition, with handling, edge wear, some discolored tape stains, folded pegholes, and a few creases.From the Jim Davis Collection.
