Description

Sam Glanzman Jungle Tales of Tarzan #2 Story Page 7 Original Art (Charlton, 1965). This page from the story "Tarzan Rescues the Moon!" features the Lord of the Apes, and a couple of friends having to face off against a band of rogue Apes. This story was an unauthorized adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's story "Jungle Tales of Tarzan". This 1919 novel was composed of short stories serialized in Blue Book magazine from 1916-1917.
ERB Inc. made Charlton destroy all art for this project, except for two pages which had already been given to an ERB collector. This is one of those two pages.
Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18.5" (counting the stat paste-up header banner). There are whiteout text corrections with a paste-up correction in Panel 1. The board is toned and in Very Good condition.
From the Roger Hill Collection.
