Description

Tennis Racquet Goofy Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1949). Goofy is showing us a very unorthodox way of playing tennis in this sequence of three animation drawings seen at the 2:14 mark of the short Tennis Racquet, directed by Jack Kinney. Goofy's sports-themed cartoons were very popular from the '40s through the '60s and many took place in a place populated entirely by other Goofys. This Goofy, playing against another Goofy, measures about 3.5" in the three drawings from this sequence, numbered 23A, 21A, and 31A. The athletic Goofy is rendered in graphite with red and green pencils on 12 field size 5 peghole animation paper. Drawing 31A has some paint spots near the lower edge and the right peghole is reinforced. The three drawings have minimal handling wear from production and very faint toning, otherwise, the condition is Very Good.
