Dick Locher, Clifford McBride, and others - Cartoon/Comic Strip Original Art Group of 5 (1951-1996). Variety is the winning quality in this selection of gems, representing a wide array of cartooning techniques. Locher weighs in with a Chicago Tribune commentary (1979) on the health-care controversy. McBride's Napoleon (Lafave Newspaper Features, 8-28-51) finds his trademarked dog-character as rambunctious as ever. William Van Horn, better known for his Disney-toon drawings, offers chilling portraits of the Dick Tracy villains known as Pruneface and Mrs. Pruneface. And Karen D. Machette pictures Fred Flintstone at odds with a used-car merchant in The Flintstones (Editors Press Service, 2-27-96). Ink and varied media on varied art-paper surfaces. Image areas, 11" x 7" to 12" x 3.75. Average Very Good condition.
