Description
Watchmen Portfolio French Zenda Editions #551/2000 (DC/Rey-Robert, 1986). The 1986 edition of this portfolio released in France contains 12 plates ("Planches") and a limited edition print signed by the creators (Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, and John Higgins). They feature all six of the promotional posters (produced in black, white, and red ink) and then six color plates featuring each of the major characters... The Comedian, Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, and Ozymandias. The artwork is by Gibbons, with colors by Higgins. The plates measure 11.5" x 16" and the signed limited edition print is numbered 551/2000 and measures 11.75" x 8.25", all coming in a 12" x 16" folder. Watchmen was a ground-breaking work written by Alan Moore and was eventually turned into a movie. These pieces have minor handling (more so on the folder than the plates); however are overall in Excellent condition.Auction Info
