Norman Mingo MAD About The Bouy Paperback Cover Preliminary Original Art (Warner, 1980). This bouy's face may ring a bell. It's the mug of Alfred E. Neuman. This was designed for the cover of MAD paperback #53. You would have thought 52 would have been enough, but they had to do another one. At least Norman Mingo painted the final cover (from this prelim) instead of any of that Gang of Idiots who drew the insides. This Naval-gazing masterpiece was created in graphite and blue pencil on paper, with a matted image area of 8.25" x 14.25". Matted to 12.25" x 18.25".
