Joe Kubert Abraham Stone: Country Mouse, City Rat Story Page 36 Original Art (Malibu, 1991). From murder to mercy, Joe Kubert masterfully controls the emotional tempo on this page, opening with the rain-soaked, lightning-lit corpse of gangster Mr. Sheedy before pivoting to young Abraham Stone fleeing the scene and collapsing into Alice's arms. It's pure Kubert melodrama, drawn from the graphic novel that introduced Abraham as a rural teenager thrust into New York City after his family's brutal murder, a journey fueled by grief, survival, and vengeance. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 16.75". Slight toning, marginal staining, scraping effects, whiteout touch-ups/highlights, pinholes on the outer panel corners, and minor corner creasing. In Excellent condition.
