Description

Milton Caniff Terry and the Pirates Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 1-21-36 (Chicago Tribune, 1936). Caniff's near reinvention of the adventure strip with his use of shadows, and shading, and dramatic narratives can be found in today's modern features, which makes his impact long-lasting, even with his dated, caricatured characters. Ink over graphite and blue wash on Bristol board with an image area of 20" x 5.5", and the art is in Excellent condition.
From the Bobby G. Murphy Collection.
