Walter Berndt Smitty Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-16-42 (Chicago Tribune, 1942). Turns out, even in 1942, the U.S. Army drew the line at recruiting 10-year-olds. Poor Smitty always had career goals beyond his years! Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20" x 6". Lightly toned, with small stains, smudging, and edge/handling wear.
