Description

Joe Beck and Otto Eppers "Lovey Dovey" Complete 1-Page Stories Original Art (Chesler/Dynamic, 1940s). The first and biggest of the Golden Age packaging studios was started by Harry "A" Chesler in the late 1930s. This group of six 1-page gags were created to fill out a variety of comic titles to aid with pagination. Many of these were reprinted in other titles from other subsequent publishers. These pages were often themed around a common premise, such as the foibles of marriage. "The Jones had a fight last night!" ran in Chesler Studios' Yankee Comics #7. Each page was produced in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 8.5" X 13.5", all mounted to a second illustration board with a total area of 28" X 28" square support board with a protective acetate covering. Boards are moderately toned with moderate handling and wear. Graphite smudges, ink stains, and glue residue visible on all pages. In Very Good condition.
