Description

Dick Ayers and Vince Colletta Two-Gun Kid #83, Story Page 8 Original Art (Marvel, 1966). A sneaky outlaw slips a sleeping powder into the local sheriff's coffee -- the better to clear the way for an invasion of Tombstone, Arizona. Ayers' solid and suspenseful composition lends itself well to Colletta's bold brushwork. A Colletta trademark -- big teeth in a grinning face -- appears in Panel 2. The script contains some authentic frontier lingo that may need translating: The word cayuse means, "wild horse." The margins contain a vivid example of Marvel-style writing: penciled instructions as to what characters and actions the panels should show. Autographed by Ayers. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12.5" x 18.5". Moderately toned. Very Good condition.
