Description

Garfield's Babes and Bullets Lieutenant Washington and Garfield as Sam Spayed Production Cel (Film Roman, 1989). "It was 11 AM. Walking up the steps to the morgue, I saw my old adversary, Lieutenant Washington." In this 1989 Garfield special, Garfield imagines that he is a brooding film noir detective named Sam Spayed who is tasked with solving the murder of a professor. In this scene, Garfield approaches the morgue to examine the professor's body, only to be stopped by his rival Lieutenant Washington. Washington threatens the feline detective, but he's no match for Garfield's witty, calm demeanor. This moment comes from the 6:03 mark of the Emmy-winning special. This brilliant cel features a monochromatic, film noir image of the Lieutenant as he harasses the cool and collected investigator. This original, hand-painted production cel features an image of the two that measures about 6" x 4.25" on a 12 field cel. The cel has been placed atop a print of one of the background layout drawings from the special. The cel is marked in its lower right corner with LW-23. Now this is a cool piece! The condition of this wonderful setup is Very Good, with just minor handling and edge wear.
