Description

Mother Goose Goes Hollywood W.C. Fields as Humpty Dumpty and John McCarthy Original Storyboard Art (Walt Disney, 1938). W.C. Fields takes on the role of Humpty Dumpty in this classic Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony, and even then he can't escape his age-old rival Charlie McCarthy. This amazing lot includes a hard-to-find storyboard of the two as Charlie catches Fields by surprise and knocks his hat from his head. Storyboards like this would have been used to get a rough idea of the setup, action, and emotion in a scene, something this lot does perfectly. The graphite with color pencil storyboard looks to have been created for about the 13:13 mark where a similar gag takes place and Fields nearly falls from the wall. These expressive characters measure about 7.25'' x 5.5'' on 8.25'' x 6.75'' paper and showcase the pair's classic rivalry. Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear, pinholes, and light age-related toning.
