Description

Mother Goose Melodies Mother Goose Storybook and Mother Goose with Goose Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1931). Mother Goose and her pet goose do a merry little jig for Old King Cole in this pair of amazing 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings from this early Burt Gillett-directed Silly Symphony. The short was released to theaters on 4/17/31 and included a variety of characters from Mother Goose nursery rhymes including Jack and Jill, Simple Simon, and Humpty Dumpty. This remarkable and hard-to-find pair of animation drawings feature Mother Goose's storybook and Mother Goose herself with her pet, both rendered in graphite with color pencil as they appear at about the 2:29 and 2:35 marks of the short. Both are full figure and large on the page, measuring roughly 3.25'' x 6.25'' and 4.75'' x 5.75'' respectively. The drawings are noted as 83 and 152 in the lower right and are in Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear and light age-related toning.
