Felix the Cat: The Movie Felix Color Model Cel Signed by Don Oriolo (New World Pictures, 1989). Created during the production of the animated feature film Felix the Cat: The Movie, this is a fantastic hand-painted original color model cel featuring a great full-figure image of the instantly recognizable cartoon icon. Originally created in 1919 by Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer, Felix the Cat is notorious for being the first animated character to attain a level of popularity sufficient to draw movie audiences. He is considered one of the most historically significant cartoon characters of all time. The hand-inked, hand-painted image of Felix measures 3" x 2" on a 12 field cel signed by producer Don Oriolo. It bears an official Felix the Cat Enterprises seal in the lower left, and it is framed under glass with a mat window size of 11" x 9" and an overall frame size of 17" x 15". and the piece is well preserved in the frame.
