Shinji Nishikawa/MASH Mechagodzilla Illustration Original Art (2019). The veteran artist Shinji Nishikawa is perhaps most recognized for the significant amount of work he has done for the Godzilla franchise as storyboard artist and creature designer during the Heisei era and the New Century series. Featured in this lot is an incredible original illustration of Mechagodzilla by the hand of the prolific Shinji Nishikawa. MechaGodzilla made its first appearance in the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. Masterfully rendered in ink on a 9.5" x 10.75" shikishi board, this extraordinary illustration reflects the artist's familiarity with the character, showing precision in the strokes of the brush and staggering detail. The board is signed by Nishikawa in the top left corner under his penname, Mash, and is dated 6/9/2019. The overall condition is Excellent.Auction Info
