Description

The Iron Giant - Iron Giant "Aims" at Rockwell Police Storyboard Animation Art (Warner Brothers, 1999). "You are what you choose to be!" The fifty-foot-tall alien robot "monster" protects himself, seemingly preparing to fire upon Rockwell Police Department Officers in this storyboard prepared for the Warner Brothers Feature Animation production of The Iron Giant! Inspired by Ted Hughes' The Iron Man, Director Brad Bird and Jeff Lynch lead a team of story artists to develop the feature-length film adaptation that followed Hogarth Hughes, a young boy who befriends and attempts to protect the extraterrestrial Iron Giant from United States federal agents and the Military. Established in pencil on 9.5" x 12" paper, this storyboard panel low angle shot depicts a "cop" jumping out of a car as the Giant aims his gun, and is accented with notes on the action and camera direction for other units. Though underperforming during its initial theatrical release, The Iron Giant is regarded as a modern animation classic and has developed a great cult following in recent years. This storyboard illustration was prepared for memorable Warner Brothers Feature Animation production and is in Very Good condition, lightly toned, and exhibits minor creases, pinholes, and wear from production.
