Description

The Little Mermaid Sebastian and King Triton Storyboards Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1989). "Oh, your Majesty. This will be the finest concert I have ever conducted. Your daughters, they will be spectacular!" "And especially my little Ariel." King Triton has high hopes for Sebastian's grand performance starring his seven daughters in this sequential trio of original storyboards from the introduction of their undersea kingdom Atlantica in Disney's The Little Mermaid. The storyboarding process, which was formulated and refined by Disney in the early 1930s, continues to endure as an integral aspect of film production across the industry, and this trio is a testament to that legacy. Spotted beginning near the 4:21 timestamp, Sebastian's diminutive conch carriage joins alongside King Triton's chariot as the two share a brief anticipatory chat on the upcoming concert (of which Ariel has notably missed nearly all the rehearsals). Each of the three 8.5" x 5.5" storyboard sheet features frame-filling characters with fantastic expressions rendered nearly edge-to-edge in graphite. Storyboard artists on the film include Roger Allers, Ed Gombert, Gary Trousdale, Thom Enriquez, Matthew O'Callaghan, Joe Ranft, and Brenda Chapman. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning and some minor areas of smudging, overall this remarkably expressive trio is in Very Good condition.
