Description
Honey Harvester Spike the Bee Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1947). Donald's greenhouse is an ideal source of pollen for Spike the Bee. But from Donald's point of view, bees mean delicious honey, and he is determined to find out where Spike is storing it! Spike tormented Donald Duck in several Disney shorts in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Spike has stung multiple times, meaning he's a bumblebee, not a honey bee, who can only sting once before dying. Here's a RARE hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cel with a great full-body image of genus Bombus. We can see this image near the 5:36 mark when Spike goes after Donald with a large cactus needle on his stinger. The cel is matted to 19.5" x 16" with an aperture of 11" x 7". Cel condition is Fine.Auction Info
