Description

The Rescuers Penny Production Cel with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1977). "You listen to me, darlin'. You're something extra special... Why, someday a mama and a papa will come to the orphanage lookin' for a pretty little girl just like you." The kindly old cat Rufus attempts to lift the orphan Penny's spirits in the 1977 Walt Disney classic The Rescuers. Seen at the 16:49 mark of the film, this is an incredible original production cel featuring a great image of Penny with her teddy bear (the same teddy that hides the Devil's Eye diamond later in the film!). Excitingly, this rare cel is displayed on its original Key Master production background, hand-painted beautifully in gouache on board. Backgrounds of the film are credited to Jim Coleman, Ann Guenther, and Daniela Bielecka from the color styling of Al Dempster. This background bears the production code 2519.003 and scene number 306. The large, 16 field setup shows minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use with light tearing in the upper right corner. Xerox background linework cel overlay not included. The condition of this rare gem is Very Good.
