Description
Pete's Dragon Elliott Color Model Cel, Elliott and Pete Original Storyboard Signed by Ken Anderson, and Pair of Publicity Photos with One Signed by Joe Hale (Walt Disney, 1977). From the Oscar-nominated film Pete's Dragon, we present an original storyboard signed by Disney Legend Ken Anderson (1909 - 1993), 16-field color model cel, and pair of publicity photos - one signed by Joe Hale (1925 - 2025). Both Joe Hale and Ken Anderson were unforgettable artists who helped to tell stories at Disney. Anderson was a "jack of all trades" and the creator of Elliott, as well as an animation sequence director on the film. Hale was a longtime layout artist, a role he fulfilled on Pete's Dragon, and later a producer for The Black Cauldron. Each piece in this lot evokes the sense of Disney magic that both artists strove to create, whether you're looking at mixed media storyboard from Pete and Elliott's first song together at about 13:11, the full figure color model of Elliott made for about 55:01 in his cave, or the promotional photographs that capture exciting behind the scenes work. The cel is displayed in a 20'' x 16.25'' mat with print background and COA on the back and the photos showcase an Elliott maquette as well as Anderson, Hale, and the director Don Chaffey hard at work with a few prints. They are about 8.25'' x 10'' (signed) and 3.75'' x 4.75''. Good condition overall with light edge and handling wear, pinholes on the storyboard, and some paint separation and chipping on the color model cel.Auction Info
