Description

Alice in Wonderland Rare Alice Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1951). "That was lovely!" This lot is your chance to add a magnificent 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing of the eponymous protagonist of Alice in Wonderland to your collection! Disney started playing with the idea of a feature film based on the original novel in the 1930s and it eventually began production in 1946. Alice is all smiles after the Mad Hatter and March Hare wish her a very happy unbirthday and the Dormouse sings her a lovely little parody of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat." If you're looking through the film, you can find Alice happily clapping at roughly 44:52 as she returns to her seat, patiently awaiting information about where the White Rabbit could have gone. The drawing is rendered in striking detail and emotion in graphite with color pencil. Alice measures 5.75" tall on the animation paper and is noted 16 in the lower right corner. Very Good condition overall with light edge and handling wear, and faint age-related toning.
