Description
Disneyland - Haunted Mansion Sarcophagi and Busts Concept Drawings by Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1968). On Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color "Disneyland Tencennial Special," the master showman promised, "We're gonna bring ghosts from all over the world." A testament to Walt's words is this sheet of sarcophagi and busts concept drawings for the Haunted Mansion, prepared by Marc Davis (1913 - 2000) by the spring of 1968. Marc describes the conceptualization in his own words: "This is seeing through an Egyptian mummy, and what's on the inside! These were just the ideas that I came up with." This page of artwork has been preserved on page 385 of "Marc Davis In His Own Words." Measuring 12.5" x 12.75", this sheet of artwork is in Very Good condition exhibiting smudges and minor wear.From the Disney Legend Inductees Marc and Alice Davis Archive.
