Description
Melody: Adventures in Music Professor Owl RARE Art Corner Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1953). This original hand-painted production cel features Professor Owl, the charming character first introduced in Disney's Melody, where he serves as the teacher in a quaint schoolhouse for birds. This cel was originally sold at the famous Art Corner Store, a Disneyland retail shop that operated from 1955 to 1966 in Tomorrowland. The Art Corner is celebrated for rescuing thousands of Disney animation cels from being destroyed, offering these prized collectibles to park visitors. Before this, Disney cels had only been available through the Courvoisier Gallery from 1938 to 1946. This particular Professor Owl cel is one of those rare pieces saved for posterity. It is hand-painted on 12 field acetate and paired with a background color card for presentation. The cel is matted to 10" x 12" and includes a gold foil Art Corner sticker on the back, although it shows some damage. The cel is in Fair to Good condition, with minor handling wear, and the matboard contains handwriting from a previous owner and edge wear.
