Dragon Ball Z "Vegeta Must Pay" Trunks Production Cel with Custom Painted Background and Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Toei Animation, c. 1989-96). "You've overcome the wall that Vegeta could not overcome." Trunks seems taken aback by Krillin's observations in this original production cel from Dragon Ball Z episode 161, "Vegeta Must Pay". Cell has reached his ultimate, perfect form thanks to Vegeta's selfish actions, with Krillin taking the first hit from the all-powerful new form. Trunks is able to revive him with a senzu bean and is rewarded with an objective reflection on his own character growth which can be seen around the 10:25 mark of the episode. Trunks is featured waist-up in this hand-painted 12 field cel, measuring approximately 7.75" x 7.25". The cel comes on a custom painted background to which the cel paint has adhered. Paired with the cel is its matching original production drawing on 12 field animation paper, rendered in graphite and colored pencils with red ink notes. Both the cel and drawing include the production codes C-102 and A1 in the top right. Additionally, the lot is accompanied by the rare exposure sheet for the scene, used to direct the photography/timing of the shot. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor fading to the Xeroxed linework. Overall, Very Good condition.
