Dumbo Five Crows Little Library Storybook Illustrations Original Art Pair (Walt Disney/Simon & Schuster, 1947). "Boy, them city folks is sure in for a surprise!" Dandy Crow, Deacon Crow, Fats Crow, Specks Crow, and Dopey Crow encounter Dumbo and Timothy up a tree and can't believe their eyes in one of this film's funniest moments. Here are all five crows as they say goodbye to the circus pair in two original storybook illustrations from a 1947 volume. Although not officially part of Simon & Schuster's Little Golden Book series (noted on the cover as "Walt Disney's Little Library" instead), this book was done in the exact same format and was later reissued as a Little Golden Book, and we've included a color photostat of the first-edition book's front cover. Of the two painted illustrations, one was printed in B&W and painted in gray tones for an approximate image size of 5.5" x 4.75" on a board measuring 7.75" x 9.75". The second is a full-page color illustration of the crows as they wave goodbye to their new friends; this image measures 8.25" x 11" on a 12" x 15" board. The art is on heavy cold-pressed illustration boards; the smaller board is in Good to Very Good condition with some handling wear with minor stains in the outer borders, while the larger artboard is in Good condition with handling/edge wear, soiling and light stains.Auction Info
