Description
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Nausicaä Production Cel with Production Background and Animation Drawing (Topcraft, 1984). "You need to return to your jungle. Understand? You're strong, you can fly." Princess Nausicaä demonstrates her mastery in calming and helping the insects, as she uses her Worm-flute to appease the scared insect. Soaring into the air, the noble princess stars in this gorgeous hand-painted production cel, featuring Nausicaä and Teto on the glider swinging her Worm-flute, as seen at the 27:11 mark of the classic anime film directed by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki. Nausicaä in her glider measures about 2.5" and the trail that she leaves behind measures about 9" x 4", granting the image an amazing sense of motion. The production cel, numbered B11 in the top right corner, measures 14" x 9" and is presented on a 14" x 9.75" custom-painted background of a blue sky that accentuates the scene. The lot includes the detailed matching animation drawing done in graphite with orange, red, and yellow colored pencils details and shadings on 14" x 9" animation paper. The production cel shows some fading on the linework and some paint wear on the trail with some light surface scuffing that doesn't affect the art. The animation drawing shows some light creasing on the bottom right and left corner, light toning, and paint from the production cel, particularly on the right edge of the paper.
