Description

Hercules Character Development and Character Study Drawing Pair by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1997). "Pardon me. It seems to me that what you folks need is a hero." By the hand of Disney Legend Andreas Deja, we present a 16 field character development and 16 field character study drawing of the golden hero of Greece, Hercules! The graphite with color pencil drawings of the titular protagonist of Disney's 1997 animated feature are beautifully detailed and created by the character's supervising animator. Deja also helped to design the character with British artist Gerald Scarfe and the two explored various shapes and forms for the character based on statues of Hercules, as well as ancient Greek pottery. The drawing of Herc with the sword features a few different elements like the swirling designs on his breastplate and a missing cape. The character study is closer to his final design, though a few elements were simplified or adjusted for animation. Both are large and full figure at roughly 8'' x 12.75'' and 5.5'' x 11.5'' and are in Very Good condition with light handling and pinholes.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
