Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Sleeping Fawns Color Model Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1937). The forest animals follow Snow's lead and curl up for a cottage rest in this utterly adorable original color model cel with Courvoisier background from the groundbreaking 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Guthrie Courvoisier, President of the highly esteemed Courvoisier Galleries in San Francisco, had the foresight to help Disney transform their production-used cels into displayable fine art that could hold places of honor from home mantels to museum galleries; this lot is a testament to those efforts. These two deer can be spotted turning in for a snooze near the 25:23 timestamp, though it doesn't last long as the forest creatures are all startled awake by the ringing sounds of "High-Ho!" about 15 seconds later. These precious fawns have been hand-inked and hand-painted to a combined image area of 5.75" x 3.75" with the cel trimmed to an overall size of 9.5" x 7.75" and presented with its original Courvoisier custom hand-painted background of similar dimensions with Courvoisier's original Disney copyright sticker affixed to the back of board. With typical handling and edge wear including some rippling of the cel, minor paint cracking/separation with small areas of loss, and light surface debris, overall these dozing darlings are in Good condition.Auction Info
