Description

Aladdin Jafar as a Beggar Animation Drawing Sequence of 11 (Walt Disney, 1992). "You've heard of the Golden Rule, haven't you? Whoever has the gold makes the rules!" Jafar, the villainous Grand Vizier of Agrabah, has disguised himself to look like a lonely old prisoner in this collection of eleven animation production drawings prepared for the production of the animated fantasy feature, Walt Disney Pictures Aladdin! Produced by the team of Walt Disney Feature Animation, Walt Disney Pictures Aladdin, inspired by the namesake Arabic folktale from 1,001 Arabian Nights, reimagined the tale to become the highest grossing box-office blockbuster of 1992. The eleven rough drawings depicting the expressive Jafar posed as a lonely old prisoner were rendered in graphite and colored pencils for a sequence that appears around the 27:10 - 27:13 mark of the motion picture, when Jafar attempts to persuade Aladdin to enter the Cave of Wonders and seek out the lamp. This artwork is attributed to animator Kathy Zielinski, and has an image size of 13" x 11" on animation paper measuring 17" x 12.5", and is in Very Good condition overall, exhibiting minimal wrinkles and creases. This rare group of eleven animation production drawings is a treasure that is sure to intrigue animation enthusiasts with a penchant for powerful sorcerers as it preserves the most magical and diabolical Disney Villain from Walt Disney Pictures Aladdin!
