Description

The Little Mermaid Ursula Animation Drawing Sequence of 6 (Walt Disney, 1989). "If I become human, I'll never be with my father or sisters again." "That's right... But you'll have your man. Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?" Ariel faces one of the hardest choices she's made in her life and Ursula is there to lend a little perspective in this dynamic and expressive sequence of 16 field animation drawings from the film that started the Disney Renaissance. There are six drawings in all, each masterfully rendered in graphite with color pencil and ranging from about 4.75'' x 7.75'' to 4'' x 6.75''. They appear starting at around 32:31 during the dialogue in "Poor Unfortunate Souls" as Ursula tries to convince Ariel to leave everything she knows behind and join Eric on the surface. There are two key drawings included in the lot that are noted by a circled number in the lower right. These were often drawn by the character's supervising animator(s), though this lot also includes a couple timing charts and dialogue notes on the pages as well for those who want a more in-depth look into the animation process. With light handling wear, faint toning and superficial wrinkles, and minor stains on one page, the lot is in Good condition and a reminder of the incredible character acting that made us fall in love with the film.
