Description

Uncle Sam Magoo Production Cel and Production Background (UPA/DePatie-Freleng, c. 1970s). From the 1970 NBC television special Uncle Sam Magoo, here's a fantastic production cel setup featuring the "visually impaired" Magoo with his donkey. In the story, Mr. Magoo heads to Hollywood, where he tries to get a part in a movie. While in Tinsel-town, Magoo comes across an Uncle Sam costume, "Old top hat, tie, and tails, I get it, one of those man about town Fred Astaire-type musicals." Hand-painted on 12 field acetate, this rare production cel contains a UPA seal in the lower right. The cel is paired with an original hand-painted 12 field production background from DePatie-Freleng Studios. It's a terrific setup. With light edge wear from production use and tape in the boarder, the piece is in Very Good condition.
