Description

Who Found Roger Rabbit Color Key Group of 3 by Thom Enriquez (Walt Disney/Amblin, c. 1980-90s). "Every Joe loves Toontown." We know we do, and you're going to love this trio of three original signed color keys made for the unproduced prequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The original film was based on Gary Wolf's book Who Censored Roger Rabbit and was a groundbreaking mix of live-action and traditional animation. The prequel promised to be the same and went through a couple different titles, including The Toon Platoon and Who Discovered Roger Rabbit. It would have given viewers a look at Roger's origins as he discovered he was adopted and left home in search of his birth mother, where he would eventually meet his future wife Jessica. Each of these paintings was created by Thom Enriquez, character designer and storyboard artist on films and series like Mulan, How to Train Your Dragon, Quack Pack, and Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and were made to establish the look, feel, and color palette of a location or scene. These color keys showcase an alleyway in the suburbs, the Toon Town Diner, and Acme Co. They are impressively detailed and rendered in gouache on 10.5'' x 7'' and 10'' x 6.5'' board, all signed by Enriquez. With only light edge and handling wear and small areas of tape on one board, the lot is in Very Good condition.
From the Noted Disney Concept and Story Artist Thom Enriquez Collection.
