Description
Avengers: United They Stand Moonstone, Baron Zemo, Boomerang, and Virgo Master Model Drawings, Group of 4 (Saban Entertainment, 1999). Created during a particularly unstable part of Marvel's financial history, Avengers: United They Stand was the very first animated series created based on the Avengers, who were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The series was short-lived seeing only 13 episodes after its October 30, 1999, premiere. Production art from this show is rare -- this is the first lot we've ever offered featuring production art from this animated series! This group includes four original, hand-inked Master model drawings of four villains from the series: Moonstone, Baron Zemo, Boomerang, and Virgo. The first three villains were featured in the episode "Command Decision," while Virgo was depicted in the series' two-part finale, "Earth and Fire." These stunning ink drawings are impressively large, with each being created on a sheet of vellum measuring about 11" x 18'. Each drawing is affixed to a backing board for protection, with a clear cel overlay atop the artwork. These model drawings set the standard for all depictions of these characters in the animated series. These ultra-rare pieces of production art are in Very Good to Fine condition, with minor handling and edge wear. They have a few slight creases on their edges, as well as a few white out corrections and some tape on the edges.More information about Saban Studios Artist.
