Runaway Brain Mickey Mouse and Monster Mickey Mouse Preliminary Theatrical Poster Art by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1995). Mickey battles a monstrous version of himself in Runaway Brain and in the 16 field preliminary theatrical poster drawing in this lot! The color pencil and ink drawing was created by Disney Legend Andreas Deja, who helped to animate the short as well as supervise the team of French animators who brought the film to life. The short, now 30 years old, was released on 8/11/1995 in the US alongside the film A Kid in King Arthur's Court and centered around Mickey taking a work ad from a scientist named Dr. Frankenollie for a bit of extra money after accidentally telling Minnie they would be taking a trip to Hawaii. The "work" is actually swapping Mickey's brain with Frankenollie's monster Julius, and Mickey is forced to get it back with loads of action-packed scenes and references along the way. The drawing in this lot was a concept for what the theatrical poster art for the film might look like with Mickey facing off against Julian, now inhabiting his body and ready to attack. Brought to life in incredible poses, the drawing is about 11'' x 8.75'', nicely centered on the page, and in Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear.From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
