Description

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas The Grinch and Max Signed Limited Edition #1/1 Cel and Signed Animation Drawing (MGM, 1966). "And they'll sing, and they'll sing. And they'll sing, sing, sing sing." At about the 7:00 mark of the classic animated movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Grinch goes on his representative rant, talking about everything he hates the most about Christmas, especially the singing! This lot features an astonishing hand-inked and hand-painted limited edition cel, numbered #1/1, displaying the foul-tempered Grinch making sure his faithful pup, Max, knows all about his distaste for the Holiday, accompanied by the original animation drawing, both signed by Chuck Jones! The Grinch and Max share an image size of 6.5" x 6.25" on the extremely rare limited edition cel, and the duo has the same dimensions rendered in graphite over blue pencil on the animation drawing. Wonderfully displayed side by side, the limited edition cel and the drawing are presented in a 30" x 15" mat with two openings measuring 11" x 8.75" each. The cel and drawing are signed by Chuck Jones on the bottom left corner, and the cel is numbered #1/1 near the Grinch's foot. Both pieces display Linda Jones stickers in their bottom right corners. The drawing shows some light toning, and overall, the lot shows minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
