Description

So Dear to My Heart "Ho-Dee-I, Ho-Dee-Ay, At the Country Fair" Pastel Storyboard Sequence of 8 (Walt Disney, 1948). "Just a grin gets you in on this day of the year, when there's nothing but cheer, to share at the county fair." From Disney's 1948 film So Dear to My Heart, we have in this lot a selection of eight colorful storyboards created to plan for the unforgettable animated scene "Ho-Dee-I, Ho-Dee-Ay, At the Country Fair." This movie famously combined animation and live action to adapt the Sterling North book Midnight and Jeremiah, starring Bobby Driscoll and Luana Patten. Done in pastel on 8.25" x 8.75" five-peghole paper, these vibrant storyboards show the images done to inform the creation of what we see at about the 1:11:51 mark of the film, featuring the silhouette of a couple in the tunnel of love, reflected on the surface of balloons. The storyboards show pinholes on the top corners, light smudging, and normal age-related toning. Overall, the condition is Very Good with light handling and edge wear from production.
