Fantasia "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" Rare Yen Sid Animation Drawing and Mickey Mouse Studio Model Sheet Print (Walt Disney, 1940). Featured in this lot is a spectacular 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing of Yen Sid and a rare Mickey Mouse studio model sheet print, both from "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" section of Disney's animated masterpiece Fantasia. The animation drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil and can be found at about 38:07 as Yen Sid parts the waters, calming Mickey's chaos. The model sheet, printed on photographic paper, features Mickey in his greatest role and gives us a rare look at the Disney animation process with amazing poses, larger-than-life expressions, and tips for how to keep this beloved character consistent. Several of the magical brooms Mickey created to help him are also included on the sheet for size comparisons, an important aspect of keeping the character on model. Yen Sid is noted as 73 in the lower right and is enormous on the page, measuring a truly impressive 9.5'' x 9.25'' in a 12.25'' x 10.25'' mat window while Mickey is presented in an 14.25'' x 11.75'' mat window. The pieces have a 18.5'' x 17'' and 20'' x 17.5'' overall mat size and are a wonderful way to keep the Disney magic alive!
