Description
Beauty and the Beast Belle Presentation Cel (Walt Disney, 1991). "Look there she goes...the girl is so peculiar...I wonder if she's feeling well." Belle leaves the bookseller totally absorbed in her book. As she reads and walks, the townspeople look on. Here's a gorgeous setup from Beauty and the Beast. Because Beauty and the Beast was nearly completely hand drawn animation on paper that was then scanned, painted and composited via computer, there are no production cels. Using the original drawings and source material, Disney created presentation cels at the world-famous Disney Ink and Paint Department located on the studio lot in Burbank. This is a four-layer cel setup with a great 9" Belle image on the top layer. The cels are presented over a background print for viewing purposes. The cel comes to auction from the collection of the former-president of Walt Disney Feature Animation Peter Schneider. He was the first president of Walt Disney Feature Animation from 1985 to 1999, credited for turning the feature animation department around and ushering in the Disney Renaissance. It's a terrific piece of animation art with great provenance. In Very Good to Fine condition.From the Peter Schneider Collection, President of Disney Feature Animation (1986 - 1999).
