Description
Huckleberry Hound "Science Friction" Title Cel Setup with Key Master Background and Main Title Sheet (Hanna-Barbera, 1960). Huckleberry Hound is tasked with hunting down a monstrous Wiener Schnitzel, but the bumbling Huck manages to get his monsters mixed-up and instead thinks that the creature is a doctor. This is the original title cel setup for the episode of The Huckleberry Hound Show entitled "Science Friction." The setup is composed of four hand-painted, hand-inked production cels, with an additional blank cel on top, displayed on the hand-painted Key Master background. The painted area of the cels has a combined image size of about 8" x 6", and the cels appear to be slightly trimmed. Some restoration has been done on the cels, and the color of one cel (the orange center of the words "Science Friction") appears slightly different than the on-screen title. However, taking a closer look at the episode's on-screen title, you will notice that there is a chip in the upper left side of the second "i" in "Friction." This same chip can be found on this title cel setup (though it has been professionally repaired), indicating that this was the exact cel used on-screen, with a color filter being used on the image for filming. The setup comes with the original studio main title sheet for the episode, which lists the credits, production number, and more. The cel setup is matted, with a matboard aperture of 9.5" x 7.5" and an overall mat size of 14" x 11". The cel setup and background are in Good condition, with handling and edge wear, including toning, some chipping and scratching, some abrasions on the edges of the background, and some cel warping. The title sheet has been affixed to another sheet of paper, and it is in Good condition, with handling and edge wear, including some tearing on the edges and corners.Auction Info
