Description

Fred Moore - "Freddie's Girl" Illustration Original Art (c. 1940s). By the unmistakable hand of animator and Disney Legend Fred Moore (1911 - 1952), here is a stunning original drawing featuring one of his famous "Freddie's Girls". Thanks primarily to his natural talent elevated by a handful of bartered night classes at Chouinard, Moore began his career with Walt Disney Studios in 1930 at the young age of 19. He would quickly become well known around the Studio for his charming drawings of innocently attractive women that would come to be known as "Freddie's Girls". The drawing offered here has been rendered in ink and mixed media to a full-figured image area of 6.75" x 8" including her chair on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. This drawing was originally held in the personal archive of another Disney Legend, Ollie Johnston (1912 - 2008), and is featured on page 121 of Johnston's 1981 co-authored book Disney Animation The Illusion of Life (prints included for reference). With typical handling and edge wear including slight age-related toning, faint surface wear, and minor corner creasing, overall this modest little lady is in Very Good condition.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
