Description

Super Dimension Fortress Macross "Boobytrap" ADR-04-Mk.X Destroid Defender and SDF-1 Macross 11.75" x 8.25" Storyboard/Concept Art by Shoji Kawamori (Tatsunoko Production, 1982). Featured in this lot is an incredibly rare original storyboard/concept art created by the distinguished mecha designer and co-creator of Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Shoji Kawamori, done for the first episode of the renowned mecha anime series. Similar to the image we see at the 4:18 mark of "Boobytrap," this astonishing production piece done in ink with color markers on an 11.75" x 8.25" board showcases a magnificent view of South Ataria Island, with the iconic SDF-1 Macross in the distance surrounded by buildings and showing the remnants of the Unification Wars on the foreground, with the ravaged remains of an ADR-04 MKX Destroid Defender reminding us of the events previous to the start of the series. The storyboard is signed and dated by Kawamori near right edge, near the SDF-1 Macross. This image can also be seen on page 97 of the Macross guidebook This is Animation #3. Overall, the lot shows minor handling wear and faint toning on the top edge. In Very Good condition.
