Description
The Black Cauldron Gurgi Oversized Model Sheet Original Art Signed by Ron Miller and Production Heads (Walt Disney, 1985). Taran's apple-stealing pesky companion Gurgi ultimately proves himself to be a hero, in this animated fantasy, Disney's darkest to date. Here's an extremely rare 25" x 20" sheet of board with eight pieces of original artwork for a studio-used model sheet of Gurgi, with the art in graphite, ink, and gray wash on paper; two images have added red and blue watercolor or color marker highlights. Three of the drawings have two images, including one size comparison image of Taran and Gurgi together. The drawings were cut and pasted in position onto the board, which would then be photographed and printed (in a smaller size) for use by the animators of this character. As a special bonus, the board has been hand-signed by some of the people who made the film possible, including Ron Miller (then-president of Walt Disney Studios), Joe Hale (producer), Richard Rich (co-director, story), Art Stevens (story), Ted Berman (co-director, story), John Musker (additional story contributor), Phil Nibbelink (animator, character designer), and Andreas Deja (animator, character designer). Wow! How cool is that? The artboard has some handling and edge wear, with minor stains. Drawings have slight edge wear and light age-related paper toning.
