The End of Evangelion Eva Unit 02 Production Cel (Gainax, 1997). Using their own weapon against them, Evangelion Unit 02 takes on Seele's new fleet of mass-produced Evangelion Units in this original production cel from The End of Evangelion. In an alternate ending to Hideaki Anno's influential and critically acclaimed anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, the secretive committee Seele aims to wipe out life on Earth and achieve Human Instrumentality by bringing about the Third Impact. Defending Nerv headquarters against the enemy Units, Eva Unit 02 can be spotted wielding the double-bladed weapon near the 34:46 mark of the film. Standing mid-swing in a dynamic pose, Unit 02 measures approximately 4.5" x 6.25" with the 7.75" long weapon in hand on the hand-painted 12 field cel. The production code A9 can been seen in the upper right corner. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor fading to the Xeroxed linework and some professional restoration. Overall, Very Good condition.
