Aurora the Sleeping Beauty Activity Book Cover Original Art (Walt Disney/Pocket Books, 1958). This handsome original book cover of Aurora with Flora, Fauna and Merryweather was published on the front cover of the coloring and activity book Aurora The Sleeping Beauty published in 1958 for the release of Walt Disney's animated feature on January 29, 1959. It was published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon and Schuster and associate of Western Printing and Lithographing Company. Much of the art for the Disney children's story and activity books was created by Disney Studios artists, and that is likely the case with this painting. The artwork is in tempera on illustration board, with an image size of 10.25" x 12.75". The art is nicely framed, and publisher's notations appear in the margins. At the bottom is written: "Job No. B2116 Cust Pocket Bks / Aurora The Sleeping Beauty / due 6-13-58" and other specifications. The glass-front frame measures 18" x 21"; it's sold as-is. A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity is included. Art condition is Very Good.Auction Info
