Description

Mulan Ling, Mulan as Ping, Yao, and Soldier Presentation Cel with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1998). "Look. This tattoo will protect me from harm." Assuming the alter-ego of Ping, Mulan gets acquainted with her fellow soldiers in this lot that showcases the amazing Key Master background showcased with a presentation cel from the scene at the 29:37 mark of the film, as one of the soldiers brags about a tattoo he think will guard him against danger. This lot was originally offered at "The Art of Mulan" auction, held in New York on March 6, 1999, and presented as lot #63. Since Mulan was created with digital animation, without using any production cels, fantastic presentation cels like this one were created by the famous Walt Disney Studios' Ink and Paint Department in Burbank, California, from the original production drawings. The three hand-painted and hand-inked characters occupy an image size of 11.25" x 8.25", featured on the Key Master background that masterfully depicts the campground tents rendered in gouache on background board. This lot is offered on a 25.5" x 19" Plexiglas-fronted frame with a 16.25" x 10" opening. A COA accompanies this lot, and the cel showcases a Disney stamp in the bottom right corner. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Presenting minor handling wear, the lot is in Very Good to Fine condition.
